Business Assurance Senior Manager

POSITION INFO:

Management of the team

a) Ensure that the legal, risk and compliance team are aware of their specific roles and responsibilities

b) Assist with the development plan for each member of the legal, risk and compliance team c) Provide guidance and ensure there is a skill transfer within the legal, risk and compliance team

2. Policy wording and Communication templates a) Assist with maintaining and drafting of all policy documentation (HGR, partner and new partners): -Master policies -Policy schedules -Policy endorsements b) Review communication templates, forms, and disclosures: -Internal and external communication i.e., letters, fact sheets, forms -Disclosure documents to ensure compliance with relevant legislation c) Assist with member communication and partner communication

3. Compliance Processes (ex gratia, complaints, intermediary accreditation, FICA) a) Ensure that the various processes are aligned with the required legislative and regulatory requirements b) Assist with providing legal, risk and compliance support on any queries relating to these processes c) Assist with reviewing legal responses that are required for complaints and FICA

4. Intermediary and partners a) Ensure sufficient oversight over partners and intermediaries b) Engage with partners on any compliance issues that may arise c) Assist with process changes required with the implementation of legislative and regulatory requirements d) Ensure important changes are communicated to partners and intermediaries

5. Legal Agreement and Opinions a) Assist business with drafting of legal agreements b) Assist with negotiating clauses in legal agreements to ensure the best outcome for HGR c) Provide legal opinions to business

6. Governance and Forensics a) Assist with developing and implementing a governance framework (structure, committee terms of reference) in HGR b) Assist in engagement on forensics matters and providing opinions c) Engage with third party providers on forensic matters

7. Regulatory Updates and Implementation a) Keep abreast of changing legislation b) Communicate changes in legislation to business c) Assist with regulatory implementation within business

8. Combined Assurance and enterprise risk management a) Assist with developing an enterprise risk framework with HGR b) Review and risk rate the processes in HGR through control self-assessments c) Identify controls and test adequacy of the controls d) Assist with managing the risk committee engagements

9. Compliance Monitoring a) Develop and maintain a first line compliance monitoring plan b) Engage with business on reviews and results c) Ensure adequate reporting is in place

10. Reporting and Regulatory Engagement a) Ensure sufficient reporting to Exco and the Board b) Assist with regulatory reporting c) Engage with the FSCA and PA on behalf of HGR 11. Training a) Providing training to HGR staff and partners regarding compliance processes b) Provide training to HGR staff and partners regarding new legislation and regulations

12. General a) Liaising effectively with all internal clients (Legal, Compliance, Forensics, Internal Audit, etc.) b) Liaising effectively with all external clients (policyholders, insurers, outsourced partners, intermediaries) c) Attend meetings with various stakeholders e) Accurate filing and record keeping f) Ad-hoc projects and general business assistance g) Maintain acceptable level of competence through on-going training h) Assist with training on relevant legal and compliance matters i) Assist with sharing legal and compliance information to the business
