JOB SUMMARY:
Manager that can lead an electrical and Power Electronic engineering R&D team. Skills in Product development and technical integration required. Solid skills in System Engineering or Management of highly skilled engineers that are specialists in their field .

JOB DESCRIPTION:

MANAGER : POWER ELECTRONIC AND ELECTRICAL PRODUCT DESIGN/ CONSULTING
Pretoria
Manager required that can lead a development team. Company focusses on the development solutions and products for clients predominantly in the energy, mining and gas environmental solutions field.
Qualification

M.Eng. or PhD in Electrical& electronic Engineering (Power Electronics)
Must be regarded as a leader in the Power Electronic field
Have at least 10 years the application of Power Electronic Principles / Knowledge of System engineering principles in Power Electronics

Responsibilities:
Providing technical direction to the company’s power electronic businesses, that includes the following:

Management of the product development process
Technical risk management
Providing product innovation leadership
New product conceptualization
Establishing new product market niche areas, in particular with respect to competitor products and product differentiation opportunities
Leading all design reviews
Client technical interaction
Company marketing support
Preparation of the technical content of bids
Development of product specifications
Ensuring that product testing, qualification and certification is done in accordance with specified, legal and contractual requirements.
Management of technical resources in the business
Will oversee / manager designs have related to aspects such as
- Variable speed drive (VSD)
- Motor Drive system design
- Electric vehicle designs
- The development of mathematical models
- Solar inverter designs
- Conversion design in the machine control side
- Power Electronic Solutions for the Solar and Renewable
