SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Senior Manager : Facilities Management for a 5-year fixed term contract based in East London, Eastern Cape.
POSITION INFO:
Applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- Post Graduate Degree in Civil Eng / QS / relevant Built Environment
- 8+ years relevant experience of which 5 years must be in built environment or facilities maintenance / management at middle management / senior consultancy level
- Registration as a PR Eng, Pr QS or Pr Arch
- An in-depth understanding of facilities management, advanced project and maintenance management, sound understanding of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and its application to the built environment; as well as working with multi-disciplinary teams is a pre-requisite
The successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to:- Strategy & governance – develop operational plans; provide input and recommended corrective actions; develop strategy and guidelines for SOP’s; oversee business intelligence tools implementation; ensure reports are timeous / correct; participate in management forums; able to analyse data sets for decision making
- Facilities management (controls and systems) – develop plans and guidelines for planned and unplanned maintenance and implement roll out plans; conduct needs analysis; conduct research; clear demarcation of responsibilities; adhere to SCM processes; identify risks & mitigation thereof
- Contract management – identify, develop, and maintain real estate industry contacts; facilitate research to maximize rentals; conduct suitable and sufficient risk assessments
- Budget management – develop and control annual budget; evaluate unit performance and authorize payments; approve maintenance / repairs and develop financial controls
- Customer / stakeholder management – regular interaction with local municipalities and stakeholders
- Monitoring / reporting – manage projects and develop business processes; identify/oversee continuous improvement initiatives
- Team – assign responsibilities; develop succession plans/manage performance
