Senior Manager Finance

SUMMARY:
Client in the MINING INDUSTRY requires the services of a Senior Manager Finance at their plant in the West Rand as soon as possible

POSITION INFO:

• NQF 8 (Post graduate Diploma / Honours Degree / Professional Qualification Degree) in Finance/BCom Accounting
• At least 7 years’ experience in financial/management accounting, of which 5 years should have been at a senior management level or experience in a functional/specialist area.
• Clear security screening record.
• Clear credit record.
• Valid driver’s license (if applicable).
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Occupational Health Centre

• Chartered Accountant (CA or CMA) qualification would be advantageous.
• Business qualification would be advantageous.

• Design and develop financial data systems to adequately analyse and interpret financial data and Information
• Develop the financial management strategy and operating model.
• Ensure that Management Accounting systems and procedures are in place to provide accurate and timeous management information to the business.
• Approve Unit budgets in conjunction with management team.
• Review and approve Capital budgets in conjunction with management team.
• Oversee the issuance of all Financial information.
• Report Financial results to the Group Executive.
• Review financial information contained in JSE and SEC filings and reporting.
• Lead, drive and approve finance projects and initiatives to meet current and future business and Regulatory needs
• Scan, research and drive implementation of appropriate technology.    
• Determine integration opportunities and defects.
• Manage and reviewing cross-functional integration of financial systems, processes and solutions 
  aligned to accepted strategy and models and provide direction related to best practices
• Analyse and interpret business objectives and plans.
• Develop the financial management strategy and operating model.
• Ensure that Management Accounting systems and procedures are in place to provide accurate and timeous management information to the business.

• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and other regulatory requirements.   
• Develop governance mechanisms aligned to statutory and company standards and requirements.
• Manage and oversee auditing processes.
• Manage and oversee risks and threats identified and provide direction related to the best approach to mitigate risks and threats.
• Review risk registers and manage interventions aligned to operational requirements.    
•  Manage and oversee the standardisation of financial systems, processes, practices and solutions and integrate new and current systems.
• Provide leadership and direction related to financial planning and forecasting sessions Construct, validate and review financial scenarios and business cases for complex situations.  
• Set goals for operating units (short- and long-term).
• Develop, manage and oversee the implementation of measurement criteria to determine financial Wellbeing and growth
• Review measurement results and determine actions to be taken for corrective action.   
• Benchmark financial practices and wellbeing with other industry leaders and compile benchmark reports related to key focus areas for growth. 
• Initiate and manage interventions to realise opportunities for growth.
• Monitor interventions geared for growth to direct and influence realistic outcomes and expectations.
