POSITION INFO:

                             CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

The purpose of this post is to effectively plan, manage and co-ordinate the George Campus ICT services in accordance with the university and George Campus strategic objectives. The Senior Manager is primarily responsible for managing ICT deliverables in line with the mandate, facilitating project governance and managing day-to-day activities for ICT services George Campus. In supporting the George Campus, the Senior Manager ICT will be responsible for the planning and execution of short to medium term projects for their implementation within a multidisciplinary team. The incumbent will achieve this through industry market research, networking with industrial partners and delivering on projects. He/she will further contribute to the growth path of any new business opportunities of the unit to fit future opportunities.

                      KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

  • Manage the ICT services management portfolio
  • Manage ICT services deliverables in line with the mandate
  • Mentor and grow ICT service talent

CORE COMPETENCIES

 
  • Possess good knowledge of current trends in Information Technology.
  • Possess good problem solving skills.
  • Possess a good knowledge of computer software and hardware, as well as a good working knowledge of network infrastructure and server environments.
  • Be capable of working under pressure and without supervision.
  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capable of functioning as a team or individually when needed.
  • Knowledge of Higher Education and IT trends in the industry
  • Knowledge of Service Level Agreements and adhering to strict timelines
  • Proven skills in project and financial management
  • Proven skills in managing staff resources
  • Leadership skills
  • Knowledge of the relevant IT legislation and Acts
  • Experience with enterprise management systems and automation of end-user computing
 

REQUIREMENTS

 
  • Relevant M+3 qualification
  • Minimum of 3 -5  years’ experience in a similar working environment
  • Experience in management, operations, and leadership in ICT an environment
  • Solid understanding of ICT management
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships among managers, partners, and employees
  • Valid Driver’s license
