Senior Manager: Legal (Renewables)

POSITION INFO:

A prominent organization within the infrastructure and energy sector is seeking a senior legal executive to lead its legal operations division. This pivotal, on-site leadership role drives internal capability, reduces legal spending, and supports group-level restructuring.

Minimum Requirements:

• LLB or B Proc (NQF 8) plus an admitted attorney/ advocate.
• 10+ years' post-admission experience.
• Regulatory and enviromental compliance, legal knowledge related to independent power producers (IPP), risk management, contracts management, corporate governance and ethics.
• Experience in protection of intellectual property would be an advantage.
• Registered with the Legal Practice Council (LPC).

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Formulate and execute legal strategy.
• Manage a professional legal advisory team.
• Provide strategic and professional legal advice.
• Manage dispute resolution and provide negotiation assistance.
• Assist with the implementation of legislation and case law,
• Manage external attorneys.
• Manage client relationships.
