Senior Mechanical Engineer

SUMMARY:
We're recruiting on behalf of a Cape Town-based client looking for a technically proficient and commercially savvy Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading consultancy in the building services sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer with HVAC and data centre design expertise to work on high-impact projects—either remotely or from their Cape Town office.

Job & Company Description:

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng., B.Sc. Eng., or B.Tech. Eng.)
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Building Services Consulting
• At least 2 years post-registration as a Pr. Eng. or Pr. Tech Eng.
• Expertise in HVAC design, including heat load and ventilation calculations
• Proven track record on data centre mechanical projects
• Knowledge of SANS, ASHRAE, and British Standards
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM360, and HVAC design software (e.g., HAP, IES)
• Familiarity with Wet Services and Fire Protection systems
• Excellent technical report writing, communication, and presentation skills
• Code B driver’s license (own transport preferred)
