SUMMARY:
Our client specializes in project support for the (petro)chemical and maritime industries. They provide personnel in the areas of Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, and Safety. They are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in the Netherlands.

POSITION INFO:
Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Non- negotiable qualifications and experience required:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the fields of product development, machinery, or manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of CAD software (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar), with proficiency in 3D modeling and design.
Location Requirement: Candidates should either be South African residents currently living in the Netherlands or South Africans willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
Fluency in Afrikaans (both written and spoken).

Beneficial requirements:

Demonstrated experience with engineering analysis tools (such as FEA or CFD software) for simulating performance, reliability, and durability.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes, with an understanding of compliance requirements in the Netherlands.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and develop innovative solutions.

Duties and responsibilities:

Design, develop, and oversee mechanical systems and components for new products and projects, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards.
Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress analysis, thermal dynamics, fluid mechanics, and other aspects of mechanical engineering.
Lead cross-functional project teams, coordinating with departments such as electrical, software, and manufacturing to ensure cohesive project execution.
Prepare and review engineering calculations, models, and drawings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
Identify areas for improvement in current processes and designs, suggesting modifications to enhance efficiency, durability, and sustainability.
Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to define project requirements, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with their needs and expectations.
Supervise, mentor, and guide junior engineers and team members to promote continuous learning and technical skill development.
Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices, applying this knowledge to current projects.
