12 Month Contract: Senior Mining Engineer
Alexander Open Cast Project

Short Description:

Ensures the success of the project by being responsible for all mining related design coordination and interfacing with all other engineering disciplines providing accurate and timeous information to other stakeholders, enabling optimal decisions in all facets of the project.

• Formal Education: University Bachelor's Degree 
• Minimum of 10 Years experience

POSITION INFO:
Key Accountabilities:

• Act as technical lead in managing the mining design consultant & related studies in development of an optimal open cast strip mine solution
• Identify & negotiate the lowest capital and operating cost per ton
• Develop organization structure for the project execution and mine operation
• Compliance to project objectives, project schedule, quality, budget and cash flow
• Specify requirements for mining engineering drawings
• Ensure due diligence throughout various stages / phases of the project lifecycle, preliminary layout and end up to the final engineering design
• Ensure that all safety and regulatory issues have been addressed / resolved
• Develop mining engineering design specifications
• Interpret / translate business requirements into an engineering strategy to enable OME to safely meet production targets
• Translate OME project team strategy into team working model
• Report on budget utilisation, forecasting and changes
• Provide efficient and high quality services to stakeholders
