Senior Operations Assistant – Salt River – R20 000 CTC Per Month

National Leisure Transport Company seeks a Senior Operations Assistant. BBBEEE Company. They have a large fleet (more than 50 vehicles) and their operation is big, busy and buzzing! They are looking for someone with experience in a service-delivery type operation and a love for hands-on operational work, to become part of the team, assisting with:

Scheduling services

Preparing waybills

Briefing drivers

Dispatching drivers

After-hours standby duty

Vehicle-related matters

Investigating incidents

Dealing with crises (such as breakdowns)

Ensuring that our standards are maintained

And all the other regular and unforeseen operational duties

The ideal candidate has the following qualities:

Well-organised and systematic, with strong administrative skills.

Able to keep track of- and return to unfinished tasks, after attention had been diverted.

Able to deal with multiple tasks and unforeseen distractions.

Able to prioritise where to focus attention, yet able to manage time to ensure that all tasks are completed.

Can deal with stressful, last-minute changes (must get a bit of a thrill when the pressure is on).

Good, practical problem-solving abilities; must be persistent and search until a solution is found.

Good people- and communication skills, with a good verbal and written command of English.

Able to stand up to people who don’t like his/her decisions.

Yet, also able to maintain strong trust relationships with colleagues, drivers and guides.

High standards for the quality of own work and the quality of services delivered.

Willing and able to work long hours, when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum Grade 12

10 years working experience in a responsible position, within a service-delivery operation

A knack for puzzle-building and problem-solving

Intermediate computer literacy (MS Office – especially Excel)

Code B driver’s license

Own reliable transport

Flexibility regarding working hours (due to sudden changes or crisis); starts work at 6:00 when on

duty

Ability to do after-hours standby duty in the evening, over weekends and on public holidays, on a

rotation basis, with the rest of the team

Proven experience in operations and/or logistics

Advantageous:

Proven experience in vehicle scheduling.

Prior operations experience in travel and transport.

Qualification in Tourism and/or Logistics.

Experience in the Tourism industry
