SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Senior PLC Programmer & Commissioning Engineer with 5+ years of experience in industrial automation. The successful candidate will be responsible for PLC programming, system integration, site commissioning, and troubleshooting of automated control systems across various projects. Experience with Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms is essential.
POSITION INFO:
Job Description: - Develop, program, test, and modify PLC software for industrial automation systems - Commission and optimize PLC-controlled equipment and machinery on customer sites - Diagnose and resolve control system faults, ensuring minimal downtime - Integrate PLCs with HMIs, SCADA systems, drives, and other automation equipment - Provide technical support and collaborate with engineering teams throughout project lifecycles Skills & Experience: - Minimum 5 years' experience in PLC programming and commissioning - Strong working knowledge of Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLC platforms - Experience with industrial communication networks, HMIs, and SCADA systems - Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation Qualification: - Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field - PLC programming certifications will be advantageous - Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required - Strong problem-solving and communication skills Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
