Senior Power Engineer

SUMMARY:
Senior Power Engineer based in Cape Town

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop requirements, investigations, information and other data
• for technical designs and trade of studies
• Direct and manage a project to completion within performance
• management baselines (scope, schedule, cost, resources and
• quality)
• Ensure contractors designs and installations comply with the
• organisation and statutory requirements
• Ensure site power operations complies with the organisation’s
• technical and quality requirements
• Ensure the quality of power received from Eskom meets the
• Electricity Supply Agreement conditions in place
• Contribute towards the graduate training program and mentor
• junior employees and site team

Key Requirements:
Qualification:

• B.Tech Electrical plus 10+ years relevant experience OR
• B.Eng Electrical plus 9+ years relevant experience OR
• M.Eng Electrical plus 7+ years relevant experience OR
• Ph.D Electrical plus 5+ years relevant experience OR

Experience:

• Preferably come from a consulting engineering background;
• Previous experience on multi-disciplinary projects (Conceptual
• Stage to Construction Close-out);Held position of responsibility and accountable for designs andproject delivery;
• Experienced with complete project lifecycle from inception to close-out
• Experience in operations and maintenance of electricity
• distribution systems

Knowledge:

• Design and operation of power generation and distribution
• systems
• Project management processes
• System engineering best practices
• Working knowledge of built environment contracts especially NEC
• Knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations
• Extensive technical knowledge and experience related radio
• astronomy infrastructure projects
