Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead the design, analysis and commissioning of high-voltage power systems on major mining projects. The role typically involves advanced power system studies, HV network design, protection coordination, and mentoring junior engineers.

Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to lead the design, analysis and commissioning of high-voltage power systems on major mining projects. The role typically involves advanced power system studies, HV network design, protection coordination, and mentoring junior engineers. The Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong Power Systems Engineer who enjoys solving complex electrical challenges across mining operations. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering studies, leading multidisciplinary project teams, and providing technical expertise from concept design through commissioning. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and analysis of HV and MV electrical power systems for mining and industrial facilities. Perform power system studies including: Load Flow Analysis Short Circuit Studies Protection Coordination Arc Flash Studies Harmonic Analysis Motor Starting Studies Transient & Stability Studies Develop substation and electrical distribution designs. Design and review protection philosophies and relay settings. Prepare technical specifications, reports and engineering documentation. Review vendor documentation and provide technical evaluations. Participate in FATs, SATs, commissioning and system energisation. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers. Interface with mining clients, EPCM teams and equipment suppliers. Ensure designs comply with SANS, IEC, IEEE and applicable mining standards. Support feasibility studies, concept engineering and detailed design projects. Assist with tender preparation and technical proposals. Minimum Requirements BEng\/BSc Electrical Engineering (Power Systems). 5+ years' experience in electrical power systems engineering. Proven experience within mining, mineral processing or heavy industrial projects. Strong understanding of HV and MV networks. Experience with substations, switchgear and protection systems.
