Senior Primavera Project Planner

SUMMARY:
An International Project Engineering Consulting Company located in Pretoria, is seeking experienced Senior Primavera Planners to join their team working on rotational basis in the Northern Cape.
This is a full-time, long-term renewable contract position, commencing early 2026, offering the opportunity to work on major mining and infrastructure projects.

POSITION INFO:
Duties & Responsibilities
Working in the Project Consulting environment, manage and maintain project schedule by:

• Planning and setting up of project schedule with project stakeholders’ input using Primavera
• Following project planning processes and company procedure on all assigned projects
• Ensure consistency and reliable progress reporting
• Highlight any deviation within the programme to the Project Manager, and assist with innovative and appropriate planning advice
• Implement planning logic, understanding inter dependencies and knock-on effects
• Highlight critical path and resource loading issues
• Track baseline vs actual progress on schedules
• Highlight risks to ensure project completion on time - raise early warnings with possible impacts to project schedule
• Weekly reporting to internal and external parties by means of schedule updates and progress reporting
• Assist subcontractors, align, and integrate project schedules and progress reports
• The role/s require time on site either part of the week or full time based on the project phase

• Related qualification
• 6-8+ years’ Primavera Planning experience in the mining and/or infrastructure industries
• Experience in a similar role, planning of large construction and feasibility phase of projects
• Primavera P6 and MS Projects knowledge essential
• Sound Understanding of installation projects in infrastructure construction / mining environments
• Consulting experience highly recommended
• Driven ‘Can-do’ attitude, with a passion for mega projects
• Process orientated and assertive to ensure that complex projects are executed in accordance with company established practices and safety requirements
• Able to work under pressure and to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
• Attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of the outputs
• Analytical thinker, energetic and flexible
• Must be fluent in English and have a good understanding of Afrikaans to communicate effectively in bilingual meetings.
• Willing to travel to project sites – own transport and valid driver’s license essential
• Must be medically fit to work on mining/construction sites
