Are you looking to play a pivotal role in strengthening privacy safeguards within a well-established customer services environment? In an era where data protection is paramount, our client, a leading organization committed to compliance and integrity, is seeking a Senior Privacy Compliance Officer who will be instrumental in advancing their privacy programme amidst evolving legislative landscapes. Where You'll Make an Impact: Assist in the enhancement, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the organisation's privacy compliance framework. Monitor adherence to the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and other relevant privacy regulations. Conduct privacy impact assessments, compliance reviews, and risk evaluations to identify privacy vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies. Develop, review, and implement privacy policies, standards, and procedures aligned with current legal requirements. Provide expert privacy advice to various business units and project teams, supporting privacy-by-design principles. Collaborate on privacy initiatives, ensuring privacy considerations are embedded into new products, systems, and processes. Assess and manage privacy risks associated with third-party vendors and service providers. Lead investigations into privacy incidents and support data breach response efforts, including regulatory reporting. Maintain comprehensive privacy compliance records, registers, and reporting metrics. Stay abreast of legislative and regulatory developments, recommending necessary adjustments to privacy strategies. Prepare and present reports and updates to management and compliance committees. Requirements: 3 to 5 years of relevant privacy compliance experience. Strong understanding of the POPIA and other data protection laws. Experience conducting privacy impact assessments and risk management. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical policies. Excellent communication skills to advise and guide internal teams. Familiarity with compliance monitoring and reporting tools. Nice to Have: Knowledge of assessment tools and risk management frameworks. Experience with regulatory reporting processes.
