SUMMARY:
To create a network or suppliers with whom to create joint solutions, identify opportunities and implement new products and services across the company. The role builds relationships with said suppliers, creates value propositions that combine the strengths of suppliers with company’s core capabilities and then manages the implementation processes and procedures end-to-end.

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Value proposition development

To individually and as a team conceptualize, design, develop and price solutions/products to achieve strategic objectives. This could include, amongst other things:

  • To identify opportunities with potential strategic partners to meet client needs
  • To design and develop new solutions / products with eco-system partners that complement and add to the existing core products and services offered by company and to deliver as a value proposition to satisfy identified needs with internal and external providers

 

Partnership and Venture Management

To build strong partnership and venture relationships that contribute to the profitability and success of AF

  • Research and identify suitable suppliers to provide solutions and products to create approved Value Propositions
  • Approach and build deep relationships with above suppliers with a view to create partnerships and ventures

 

Planning and Project management

To provide leadership and support for the product development activities identified, by ensuring internal and external suppliers are aligned and deliver on expected budget and timelines

  • Ensure understanding of requirements and interdependent activities across both companyand external suppliers
  • Ensure expected delivery dates are met, and responsible governance committees are kept informed of progress and delays

 

Product incubation and development of management processes

To incubate new products and develop sustainable operating processes and procedures, that ensure longevity and profitability

  • Create SLA’s and operating procedures for a portfolio of eco-system products and services to ensure established business knowledge
  • Incubate eco-system products and services to ensure smooth operation and sustainability

 

Collaboration, Business Integration and Stakeholder management

Collaborate, liaise and work closely with internal and external teams

Set up mechanism for receiving input on an ongoing basis from dependent areas

Builds and maintain internal and external client relationships by:

  • Displaying the required level of understanding of the various business strategies as well as understanding the application of the strategy throughout the divisions.
    • Creating and maintaining productive relationships with internal and clients through continuous conversations and being accessible.

 

Business Case Development and Analysis

To ensure analysis of new products and services is thorough and well considered before being approved

  • Oversee the development of revenue and profitability models associated with new and existing products.
  • Prepare business case analysis and medium and long term – including scenarios and sensitivities - payoff profile for each product

 

TCF

To ensure that TCF principles are considered and adhered to

  • Understands the key regulatory universe that affects the business
  • Draws on TCF management information (and potentially contributes towards the input thereof) to monitor progress in TCF and address short-comings relevant to the area

 

Implementation Perspective

  • Ensure this prioritization is presented to and accepted by the appropriate governance committees
  • Ensure that the approved prioritization is communicated to all applicable stakeholders

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

Relevant Degree/ Tertiary Qualification and Post Graduate Qualifications and at least eight to ten years of experience with a combination of at least the following demonstrable experiences: 

  • Entrepreneurial skills, and business analysis
  • Strong project management and implementation
  • Demonstrable track record of creating and implementing joint ventures
  • Experience in end-to-end product development
  • Marketing and communications and strategy development and management
  • Financial services experience
  • Negotiations and development engagement with third party suppliers
  • Management of internal resources in a matrix structure
  • Ability to operate within ambiguity and complexity, and balance numerous business requirements consecutively
  • Both strategic and operational experience and exposure.
