Key Responsibilities:
- Establish appropriate governance and programme/project structures
- Lead the development and approval of business cases, ensuring delivery remains aligned
- Define and manage full project lifecycle per formal project management methodologies and governance standards
- Oversee vendor engagement, procurement, and contract management
- Optimise resource planning and manage cross-functional delivery teams
- Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, budgets, and change
- Coordinate the transition from project implementation to operational support (BAU)
- Track progress using Agile tools such as burndown charts and velocity metrics
- Facilitate project forums and escalation/decision-making processes (Steercom, Investment Committee)
- Run Agile ceremonies and manage sprint cycles across iterative teams
- Drive prioritisation based on capacity, budget, and business value realisation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Formal Project Management or relevant IT qualification
Required Experience:
- 8+ years managing large-scale, high-budget programmes or projects at Executive level
- Extensive experience in outsourced/multi-vendor environments
- Proven delivery of infrastructure and technical implementations
- Deep understanding of collections and payment systems (e.g. debit orders, stop orders, DebiCheck)
- Strong background in both legacy and modern platforms, including system migrations
- Demonstrated success delivering projects within the financial services sector
- Agile project delivery including managing Scrum teams
Key Knowledge Areas:
- Programme and project management principles and lifecycle
- Business case development and financial planning
- Agile frameworks and tools (JIRA, burndown charts, backlogs)
- Vendor and contract management
- RFP/RFI processes
- Solid understanding of the Collections and Payments operational ecosystem
