The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Delivery Consultant / Project Manager for a 12-month fixed term contract for Pretoria.

 

Purpose of the role:

To manage the deliverables of IT projects at our company Mines, utilizing the necessary resources and skills, within agreed parameters of cost, timescales, and quality.

 

The desired candidate should have experience in managing projects in mining environment with a sound knowledge of the mining value chain as well as experience with Mining Technical Systems.

 

The IT department is in Pretoria, but the successful candidate will be required to be on site in Limpopo on the mine at least twice per week.

 

Minimum educational level:                                                      

• Computer Science or Information Systems Degree/ Diploma
• Qualification in Project Management â?? PMP or Prince2

 

We require the following work experience:

• Minimum of 5 years project management experience
• Extensive working knowledge and experience in Projects and Project deliverables
• Detailed practical knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques within depth knowledge of at least one methodology (The company IT uses PMBoK/Agile/ASAP)

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Scoping and planning of selected and initiated projects â?? Charter workshops
• Development of Project Plans â?? The development of project plan on the principle of rolling wave planning
• Scheduling â?? Develop project schedules with resources allocated with activity duration and sequencing
• Progress Tracking â?? Progress tracking intervals as per the requirement of each project
• Progress and Status Reports â?? Progress reports to be within 24 hours after a progress meeting
• Dashboards â?? draft dashboards and status reporting of the projects monthly
• Project Issues Management â?? Log issues as well as managed and addressed as the projects progress
• Project Risks Management â?? Identify project risks with contingency plans and managed for all projects
• Project Incident Management â?? Record keeping of all incidents and scope changes to the project
• Project Decisions â?? Capture all project decisions and managed as required
• Project Management Quality Control Process â?? Manage quality assurance by applying best practice and maintaining a quality assurance and control system
• Project Management Best Practice advice to the project team members
• Project Administration will include the following: Meeting arrangements, Attendance, Register, Agenda and minutes of meetings, Maintenance of project files and electronic backups on she Share drive.
