Senior Project Manager

SUMMARY:
A financial Institute in the Centre of Pretoria has a Full Time CONTRACT position available for a Senior Project Manager

The main purpose of this position is to manage several streams defined under the Network Modernisation project by leading, planning, organising and controlling resources in accordance with the approved project management methodology and to deliver the project scope and objectives according to specification on time and within budget.

POSITION INFO:
A minimum of a B degree, advanced Diploma or equivalent;
A minimum of five to ten years’ job-related experience;
Strong background and experience in the implementation of Cisco network infrastructure; and
Must have extensive experience in all key components of Project Management such as resource planning, budgeting, reporting, project artefacts and delivery
Professional Project Management Certification;
A thorough understanding of the nine knowledge areas contained in the Guide to Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) and / or Prince II; and
Knowledge and experience related to Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), Cisco Digital Network Architecture (DNA) and Cisco Tetration

The main purpose of this position is the management of the Network Modernisation Project with the following project streams:-

Pre-Project Activities
Design
Project Planning
Procurement Plan
Decommissioning Plan
Build
Commissioning
Migration Plan
Quality Control
Network Documentation
Project Closure

Detailed description: The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following:
Practical, hands-on  experience  in  managing  large  scale  and complex  network upgrade projects
Practical, hands-on experience in developing a detailed migration plan
Managing the programme from initiation, planning, execution through to close-out
Creating strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning
Assist with  the  development  of  Requests for  Proposal  (RFPs)  for  professional services
Definition and maintenance of project documentation
Project reporting to various committees consisting of senior executives
Project Cost Management
Identify, engage and successfully manage Build effective relationships and leverage these to ensure the right outcome for the project and stakeholders.
