SUMMARY:
Senior Project Manager - George - Western Cape

POSITION INFO:
A well established Company based in the Garden Route - George, is looking for a full-time Senior Project Manager to join their team.

Purpose of the role::
Define the objectives and scopes for each stage of the project, manage quality control and coordinate the work of all team members to ensure that the project is delivered on time within budget and scope.

Requirements: 

  • Monitor team performance
  • On-going coaching and training of employees
  • Implement organisational policies in compliance with all relevant acts such as the Basic Conditions of Employment (BCEA), i.e. leave, overtime
  • Staff planning and development in line with company Employment Equity Plan
  • Manage workplace discipline in line with company disciplinary code
  • Create, maintain and track project plans and schedules, cost estimates and problem logs and progress throughout the life of the project.
  • Developing project scopes and objectives.
  • Ensure the requirements are clearly defined and thoroughly understood by the development team.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of the software and project manager team.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation, conduct software team meetings, troubleshoot technical issues, and facilitate the deployment of software upgrades.
  • Ensuring that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Offer leadership, guidance and motivation to developers and project managers while resolving internal conflicts.
  • Apply Scrum and Agile principles within the team with the aim to improve productivity of the team, create a transparent environment, better communication with business and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques.
  • Report and escalate any critical issues to management.
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders and provide timely feedback.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Ensure the work tracking system (Jira) is always up to date.
  • Ensure communication between business and the developer is efficient and no unnecessary time is wasted.
  • Where technical support or production issues need attention, delegate the work towards the best suited resource and manage the work effectively.
  • Assess project issues and identify solutions to meet productivity, quality and customer goals.
  • Manage changes by developing workable implementation plans. Communicate changes effectively.
  • Manage customer (business) expectations.
Requirements: 
  • Any suitable tertiary qualification 
  • Prior experience in a similar field would be beneficial 
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Someone who is thorough
