Description

The Senior Project Manager ensures that the projects deliver on the agreed scope, remain within baseline budget, and are delivered on time while achieving quality criteria and maintaining stakeholder satisfaction. This individual will manage the delivery of the project according to the PMI knowledge areas and in line with the Groups iPrimer methodology. This includes rigorous project scope control and management of change variations. The individual also communicates with key stakeholders regarding the status of their projects, within and outside of the organization including Group Companies and technology vendors.

 The individual manages stakeholder satisfaction, commitment, and expectations to high service levels and manages escalations adequately. They act as the single point of contact for the stakeholder whilst taking accountability for all escalations relating to the project.

 The Senior Project Manager needs to be able to lead teams effectively within a matrixed environment. They act as people managers and provide feedback to the relevant line managers.

 As corporate citizens, they act as role models to the teams. They display assertiveness and act as an example when it comes to client satisfaction. The individual possesses advanced communication, influencing, and negotiating ability. They display confidence and the ability to manage large teams of people. They are detail-focused with problem-solving ability.

Strong business acumen and a good understanding of general technology concepts are required.

Requirements

• Engage with stakeholders to take projects from original concept through to final implementation.
• Provide project initiation support by working with stakeholder teams to scope and cost a project solution which includes the completion of a proposal.
• Ensure that the project delivers as-sold solution, remains within the baseline budget, and is delivered on time whilst maintaining quality criteria and stakeholder satisfaction.
• Manage the delivery of the project, including rigorous scope control and change management.
• Ensure stakeholder satisfaction and manages escalations, acting as a single point of contact to all stakeholders.
• Act as a people manager and enable project teams to deliver against performance objectives.

 Education required

•  BSC or Computer Science degree or diploma advantageous

 Certifications required

•  Prince 2 or PMP Certification advantageous
• SAFe Agilest certification advantageous

Work experience required

• 10 years plus working experience
• Program/Project management experience
• Experience with or good understanding of how organizational change management can be applied within a business transformation initiative.
• Understanding of industry best practice PPM methodologies and approaches with real-world application.
• Delivery of Digital Solutions and Agile delivery approaches would be an advantage.
• Client engagement experience
• Good understanding of business and end-user perspective resulting in effective prioritization skills
• Desire to understand the enterprise business world
• An understanding of Project Management processes
