Senior Project Mechanical Engineer

SUMMARY:
Our client in the Stainless Steel industry, has an EE opportunity available for a Senior Project Mechanical Engineer in the Middleburg area.

POSITION INFO:
Education and Experience Requirements:

• BSc/B Eng or B Tech Mechanical Engineering degree
• GCC and People Management Diploma
• 10 years Mechanical experience, of which 5 years must be in the engineering and management of Capital Projects in Heavy Industry
•  Steel manufacturing industry experience
• Knowledge on conceptual design and engineering, contract and construction management, project and team management, costing and cost control 
• People management skills
• Communication skills (written and spoken)
• MS Office

• Ensuring that designs, engineering and construction activities conform with the OSHAct, Construction Regulations, Codes of Practice and associated design standards including internal standards and procedures
• Conduct feasibility studies to improve and expand the capacity and capability of the plant and machinery
• Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
• Ensuring designs are robust, tried and tested and utilizing quality components and systems from trusted suppliers
• Recommends improved mechanical maintenance methodologies
