Job Description:

Consulting engineering firm that handles “world-class rebuild optimization projects” are growing and require a Senior Planner to support their Project Management Team in managing multiple (small to medium-sized projects) in a highly pressurized and challenging environment for a demanding and professional client that only expects excellence. You will be based at the clients site in Rustenburg.

Position details:

Type: Permanent

Planning and scheduling on refurbishment projects in platinum throughout the Project Life Cycle Model (PLCM). Set up project schedules, monitor progress, resources, report on progress on a weekly basis. Planning of master project schedule and risk analysis. Site project controls / planning with primary focus on ongoing schedule development and progress/productivity reporting. Various Daily and weekly reports.
Manage and oversee all activities relating to project planning.
Ensure project filing and retention of records are set-up in accordance with the company’s system procedures and clients requirements.
Manage the consistency of the work breakdown structure to project controls and engineering activities on projects.
Develop and oversee the planning and scheduling system, process and procedures.
Oversee adherence to project execution and quality plans.
Establish and ensure governance of all planning/scheduling functions related to projects.
Handled technical documents, project deployment schedules, and master deployment schedule based on project requirements.
Compile integrated schedules.
Monthly reports for management meetings.
Assist with bid evaluation, contractor selection, management and co-ordination of interface milestones with sub-contractors.
Familiarity with contract documents, general conditions, special conditions, scope of work and contractual drawings is of great importance.
Analyzing sub-contractor’s schedules to make sure they are still on schedule, checking earned progress versus planned progress, based on earned man-hours.
Have a hands-on approach of monitoring progress on a daily basis.

Job Qualification & Experience:

Sound, hands-on planning experience working for managing contractors.
Planning of multi-disciplinary projects.
Physical work experience in the field highly advantageous.
Detailed and precise in your work consisting of idea packaging, pre-feasibility, feasibility, basic development, execution:, fabrication and erection of piping, civil works, structural steel fabrication and erection, electrical and instrumentation erection, as well as start up and evaluation/start-up.
Can operate well under pressure and enjoy challenging projects.
Ability to analyse a schedule and pick up the mist.
Experience and knowledge of Project Budgeting, Cost Estimating/Control and Planning/Scheduling.
Person with high integrity operating in a high performance culture to deliver accurate results on time
Delivered results in various operations and projects.
Quickly grasp new concepts and systems and make it your own.
Be medically fit due to the nature of the business.
Must be willing to travel and be based on site from Monday to Friday.

The project services department incorporates the planning, procurement, cost control, project accounting and cost engineering disciplines.
