+10 years’ experience as a QC inspector in Heavy Steel Fabrication, onshore/offshore, mining, petrochemical or oil and gas industry.

Matric or NQF Level 3
NQF level 5 or 6 will be advantages
SAIW Welding Inspector Level 2 or equivalent
Qualification as a RT film interpreter will be advantages
Qualification as an LPT/MPT/UT/RT technician will be advantages
Job knowledge required:
ISO 90001 – In depth knowledge
AWS D1.1 – In depth knowledge
ASME IX – In depth knowledge
ASME B31.3 – In depth knowledge
DNV 2.7-1 – general understanding
ISO 17020 – general understanding
ASME V – general understanding
Experience as an IPE will be advantages
Key Performance areas
- Ensuring sufficient coverage for all QC requirements across all projects without hindering production progress
- Implementation and adherence of code requirements across standard workshop activity without deviation
- Review and implementation of specific client requirements without deviation
- Providing technical support and guidance to the production team
- Training and developing the QC Inspector trainees
- Ensuring ISO 90001 compliance
Using various measuring equipment to a high degree of accuracy (high-low gauges, gap gauges, micrometres, laser measuring devices, standard tape measure, etc.)
Must be willing to relocate
