SUMMARY:
Our client’s immediate needs are for a professionally experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally with hard core physical furnace rebuild work (site based contract position) and/or EPC/EPCM Mining & Metals experience - that is available immediately.
POSITION INFO:
Our client has a number of rebuild work contracts lined up for this year, with emphasis on project safety, on-time, within-budget delivery and to the required quality and standards. They have successfully managed and constructed small, medium and large projects in both Greenfield and Brownfield environments (established in the 1980’s).

Position details:
Contract: duration 9 months - potential to go permanent
Reports to: Project Manager
Travel requirements: Prepared to be based on site and would require to work weekends.
Job description / core competencies:
Experienced working on site projects; attending site progress meetings; estimating construction work; compiling; bills of quantities reports; the review and validation of estimates, review of contract documents; compilation of contractual correspondence cost management/monitoring and exercising stringent financial control; producing monthly cost reports, submitting costs associated with variations, site instructions, modifications, technical queries and design faults contract administration, assessment and approval of monthly valuations; agreeing final accounts; cashflow forecasts; agreement of the final accounts; and close-out reports.

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Degree or equivalent an advantage in Quantity Surveying, minimum of 7 years’ experience.
Ideally experience in metal shut down or brownfield projects.
Can work under pressure in a multi-disciplined environment.

Projects: from minor capital projects to major expansion process projects in the mining environment with a special focus on metal furnaces.
Have in-house knowledge to design and execute projects for processing and maintaining facilities from initial treatment of mined ore to the production of a saleable product.
In-house resources for process, civil, structural, platework, piping and mechanical work.
The project services department incorporates the planning, procurement, cost control, project accounting and cost engineering disciplines.
