Senior Registered Nurse - Retirement Estate

POSITION INFO:

We are seeking a dedicated and mature Senior Registered Nurse to join a nursing team at a prestigious retirement estate located in the north of Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise a team of healthcare staff on shift, to deliver high-quality, person-centred care

• Perform all nursing duties within the units (frail care, assisted living and clinic)

• Collaborate with doctors and other members of multi-disciplinary team

• Ensure clinical excellence and compliance with healthcare standards

• Support residents in frail care, assisted living, and independent living environments

• Collaborate effectively with residents, families, and multi-disciplinary teams

• Handle medical emergencies and ensure accurate documentation

• Foster a caring, respectful, and empathetic atmosphere

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse qualification and current SANC registration

• Minimum 8 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a shift leader/supervisory role

• Fluent in both English and Afrikaans

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Firm, fair, and empathetic approach

• Previous experience in a retirement estate, frail care, or assisted living environment is advantageous, but not a requirement

• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport, essential

• Ability to work 12-hour day and night shifts on rotation

• A person with a passion for elder care
