Senior Revenue Accountant (Remote working)

SUMMARY:
Seeking a skilled revenue accountant to lead revenue accounting processes, and be responsible for reconciling and reporting revenue in accordance with revenue accounting standards, Company policies and procedures as well as assisting with implementation of revenue recognition software.

POSITION INFO:

Senior Revenue Accountant  – Long Term Contract

A leading global institution seeks a skilled, dynamic and commercially astute individual to join their team on an interim (12 months) basis. You will lead revenue accounting processes, and be responsible for reconciling and reporting revenue in accordance with revenue accounting standards, Company policies and procedures as well as assisting with implementation of revenue recognition software. This is a hands-on role that requires ownership and responsibility for periodic and ad hoc reconciliations of various revenue related areas including month end close procedures.

You will need to meet the following minimum requirements:

• Possess a degree in accounting or finance.
• Completed Articles preferred (eg TOPP OR TIPP articles)
• Professional qualification (CIMA / ACCA / CA)
• At least 6 years Revenue & Management Accounting experience (non negotiable)

• In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• At least 3 years experience in the mining / petrochemical / oil & gas sectors
• Prior experience with revenue- pricing, sales, costing etc
• US GAAP experience highly desirable
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Advanced report writing skills

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Perform and lead the revenue close and reporting activities, including the preparation of journal entries and reconciliations
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and analysis, which includes reviewing, investigating, and correcting errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
• Assist with process improvement initiatives, including automations and system implementations across billing, revenue, commissions and collections processes
• Be proactive and take initiative when performing tasks to help maintain the integrity of the financial statements and increase efficiencies
• Participate in the development of internal controls
• Contribute to accounting team''s continuous process improvement and always consider ways to

make jobs more efficient

• Lead, assist or participate in ad hoc Revenue Recognition projects
