To plan and carry out all sales activities on assigned accounts or areas. Responsible to promote and sell products and services to customers to meet and exceed their needs, within the various Target Markets concerned with cleaning, disinfecting, within the Mining and Industrial Sector.

Job Description:

To grow and expand customer base and sales within the various target markets. To ensure continuous development and expansion of new business to ensure economic business growth.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Strategic Implementation
- Define BU Strategy in line with company strategy and policy
- Develop and implement profitable business model
- Manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Participate in setting of budget and targets in line with benchmarks as set by BOD and Shareholders.
- Ensure BU performance targets are achieved.
- Meet customer expectations and company profitability targets.
- Participate in customer meetings
- Ensure actions are approved and in accordance with prevailing policies and instructions.
- Work as key member of BU management team and involved in the strategic planning process with primary focus on strategic marketing.
- Provide leadership for sales team and ensure development and performance are driven amongst the sales team.
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and prospective customers.
- Develop, maintain and manage business and project opportunities in mining business.
- Chart the presence and activities of mining groups and translate this information back into the organization.
- Investigate and report on trends in the industry and impact on the business
Marketing and Sales
- Achieving Sales Budget by Presenting and selling company products and services to potential clients.
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.
- Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
- Identify sales prospects and contact these and other accounts as assigned.
- Obtain and placing of orders.
- Prepare, quotes, presentations, proposals and sales contracts.
- Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.
- Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contract services.
- Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up.
- Identify and resolve client concerns.
- Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up and adherence to goals.
- Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.
- Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce over stock issues.
- Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events.
- Follow-up for collection of payment.
- Training to clients on products, dilutions, applications on safe handling of products
Educational Requirements:
- Minimum Grade 12 and or NQF equivalent
- Qualification (Degree/Diploma) in Commerce/Business Administration
- Qualification in Sales, Marketing advantageous
- Computer Literate in Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid unendorsed Code 8 Drivers License
Experience and Skills Required:
- A Minimum of 10 years’ experience, 5 years at senior management in a Commercial / Business environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of business principles and application thereof
- Ability to identify and seize business opportunities
- Strong leadership and people management skills, influence and networking skills in a multi-cultural context
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans (written and spoken) and presentation skills
- Result orientated attitude paired with an outstanding communication and influencing skills
- Mining industry background highly advantageous
- Sales experience in a similar industry and or related field advantageous
- Knowledge and Experience of Technical Systems and Equipment for the chemical Industry will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of Hygiene Systems will be beneficial
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets and increase market share
- Physically fit and in good health – will require carrying of products and buckets to provide training on utilization of brooms, mops, hygiene systems and cleaning material.
