Senior Seasoning Developer - Food Industry

SUMMARY:
A well established and leading Seasoning Company requires the above to manage and develop new seasonings for various projects within the food industry.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum requirements for the role:

• A Degree or Diploma in Food or related qualification is essential.
• Previous experience having worked as a Seasoning Developer ideally within the Snack or Meat or related industry is essential. 
• The successful candidate should be someone who has the ability to identify, profile and taste seasonings accurately.
• The successful candidate should be a team player and have good people skills.
• The successful candidate must be computer literate and have good administration skills as they will be presenting and putting reports together for Senior Management.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Developing seasonings for meat applications (boerewors, sausages and biltong).
• Managing the development of coatings and breading for meat applications.
• Researching consumer markets and latest technologies to develop new product ideas.
• Developing new and modifying existing products and processes.
• Preparing product costings based on raw materials and working with Finance to provide profitable products.
• Matching seasonings for Key Customers.
• Drafting and submitting ingredient statements and customer questionnaires.
• Sourcing ingredients that may be required in development, product formulation and application recipe design.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
