POSITION INFO:

Our client a Global Tech firm is seeking a Senior Developer – Support  to join their team in Sandton on a Contract basis for 12 months. Our client offers great benefits, stability, growth and an attractive salary.

Description

The Senior Developer is responsible for creating client specific solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining applications. They will be able to analyse client needs and develop appropriate solutions. They will have the ability to design and customise applications for specific client use with the aim of optimising operational efficiency. Technical leadership skills are required to guide team members when required.

Application developers work in teams to identify ideas and concepts for a specific requirement brought to them by from a customer. They are able unpack those ideas and create recommended solutions so that every part of the concept is thought out and accounted for. They understand coding languages and how to apply them in a way to create new, fresh content and usable applications. Depending on the job, application developers will work with other developers, UX/UI Designers, Business Analysts and other subject matter experts to develop solutions. Once the solution is developed, senior developers help to test and fix any bugs that are found before the product is launched.

Requirements

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Well versed in research, design, and development
• Developing solutions to meet customer needs.
• Ability to integrate software components and third-party programs to meet specifications
• Ability to consistently produce clean, efficient code based on client specifications
• Serve as the subject matter expert within all aspects of development to include technical requirements, application configuration, user requirements, and application upgrades and migrations.
• Serve as main contact for escalated troubleshooting issues and deliver solutions to high priority issues.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of user and technical documentation.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to developers
• Lead concept development in relation to design and creative outputs
• Take a lead role in managing the design and development of projects and be point of contact for client’s technical feedback
• Work with internal teams to generate ideas and products for future development.
• Provide quality control over design outputs and production
• Establishing and developing best practice with the development team.
• Build a positive and concrete change in team members to boost the transfer of knowledge

PROVIDE PRE-SALES SUPPORT

• There is an expectation for the Senior Developer to engage with the Pre-Sales & Sales teams to adequately scope and cost project solutions. The pre-sales scoping of the project would involve the completion of a proposal. This will include:
• understanding the client requirements,
• developing an initial view of the solution,
• tailoring the product or service,
• interacting with the client to explain the proposed solution,
• assists in compiling the proposal and reviewing where required

AGILE DEVELOPMENT

• Ensure that Agile software principles are followed by which collaboration is the decision maker for requirements and solutions.
• Contribute to a Cross-functional Agile team that self-organises to apply adaptive planning and evolve development for quick delivery and continuous improvements in deployments.
• Ability to rapidly respond to change that involves customer participation.
• Improvement of solution quality encouraged by frequent releases and short release cycles.
• Focus on quality outcomes which generates customer satisfaction within a timeline that retains customer engagement.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 years of development experience within Microsoft O365 & SharePoint.
• Extensive experience with the .NET framework and other technologies: C#, Web API.
• Advanced experience in Object oriented programming and data structures.
• Agile Software Development.
• REST API/ Web API creation, consumption, integration using Service Oriented Architecture.
• Microsoft Azure (Azure SQL, Storage, Web apps, web roles, worker roles, Service Fabric, IoT Hub).
• Power Automate and RPA for business process automation.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to recommend and execute improvements
• Commitment to optimization and accountability evident in creating technical documentation for reference and reporting
• Extensive experience with application design and development in a test-driven environment
• Solid knowledge of coding languages and frameworks/systems
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude coupled with focus and follow-through
• Ability to clearly communicate their ideas to team members and management
• Creative mindset to help implement new ways of approaching problems and developing innovative applications.
• Excellent customer service when dealing directly with clients and customers.
