POSITION INFO:

Job Description:

• Develop project execution plans together with management team
• Plan project activities prior to site mobilization
• Make arrangements for site establishment as required
• Manage and oversee execution of the site establishment process
• Manage any sub-contractors who may be part of the project
• Liaise and interact with main contractor site managers where applicable
• Takes responsibility for personnel on his team and their actions
• Takes responsibility for all equipment under his authority
• Ensures that production targets are met
• Keeps good relations with the client representatives
• Understands the project intent and diligently works towards reaching that target
• Focussed on project deliverables
• Keeps project administration up to date
• Keeps management informed on progress and any challenges that may develop
• Takes responsibility for the health and safety of all personnel under his supervision
• Willing to travel and work within South- and Southern Africa for limited periods of time
• Enforces daily maintenance routines to be executed
• Keeps track of machine servicing intervals and executes planned maintenance on time
• Sees to it that all equipment and tools are used as intended only and kept in a prime working condition at all times
• Initializes and oversees repairs in case of a breakdown of the equipment
• Manages all risks appropriately and documentation thereof through risk assessments
• Keeps risk registers and creates awareness of risks in his team
• Ensures the safety of all site equipment and makes the necessary arrangements to enforce this at all times
• Conducts daily toolbox talks with his team and keeps record thereof
• Keeps a daily site diary and sends out to management team
• Keeps record of any other site administration required by the client
• Compiles monthly site measurement data for preparation of payment certificate to the client
• Closes out project documentation at the end of projects
• Assist management in betterment of systems and plans to build a better, safer, more efficient business
• Update monthly budget vs actual analysis and compile report for management purposes
• Ensure project is completed within the budgeted cost
  

Education:  Minimum Requirements

• Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Project Management or higher qualification

Job Experience & Skills Required:

• Min 15 years of relevant experience in the Construction or Mining industry
• Proven Project Management and Site Management skills is a must
• General technical knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulics systems
• In depth working experience with pumping and pipeline systems
• In depth knowledge of H&S procedures for working on mines and industrial site requirements
• Experience of working with contracts
• Excellent skills in working with people
• Working knowledge of indigenous language will be an advantage
• Driver’s license
