I am working with a vastly growing software consultancy in Edinburgh who are looking to recruit a Senior Software Delivery Manager.
The company:
They are a thriving software consultancy with a number of offices across the UK, who have experienced vast growth over the past 12 months. They focus on designing and building software across some hugely well-known organisations and also across the private and public sector. The work you will do, based from Edinburgh, will be focused on Scottish organisations and they are currently working alongside the Scottish Government, Oil and Gas companies, Energy companies as well as financial organisations - they have a very diverse portfolio.
In relation to where you will work, this will be a combination of office based, client based and home working. They operate a "trust-based model" and after everyone has stopped working from home full-time (post Covid), they want to offer flexibility to their employees.
The role:
In this role, you will lead the delivery of complex clients and programmes and will be a key member of the business. You will lead large-scale projects with a focus on achieving client outcomes, developing senior client relationships (at the C-suite level) and doing this through effective delivery leadership. Your key responsibilities will include defining project delivery road maps, hands-on management of complex projects with multiple work streams, shaping solutions within a pre-sales context, and building strong partnerships with clients.
You will also work with Product Owners and Solution Architects to shape and deliver technology solutions for clients. It would also be ideal if you can demonstrate hands on expertise in managing software development projects using Agile methods, as this is predominantly the methodology they use (some Waterfall). This is a client-facing role which combines strong leadership attributes working across all dimensions of the consultancy lifecycle, including pre-sales, commercial, relationships, technology, delivery and people.
Your background:
** Previous experience working in a software/technology consultancy or large end-user
** Background in a senior Software Delivery role, working with large-scale clients and organisations
** Strong appreciation of modern software engineering and associated development technologies and the full software development lifecycle
** Background in leading the delivery of large-scale, complex technology projects for clients, or lead a portfolio of client engagements
** Ability to develop and maintain senior client/partner relationships
** Contribute to the development of innovative propositions, ways of working and other thought leadership collateral
