A prominent public institution is seeking a Senior Specialist:Globe Tax to play a critical role in combating tax avoidance and implementing global tax reforms. This strategic position offers the opportunity to influence national tax policy and represent South Africa in international tax matters.
The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in taxation, international tax standards, and corporate reorganisation, with a particular focus on the OECD’s Pillar II Global Minimum Tax framework.
Key Duties:
- Lead implementation and oversight of the OECD Pillar II Globe Minimum Tax Rules
- Serve as the primary contact and representative on Globe Pillar II matters
- Analyse and counter potential tax avoidance schemes and legislative loopholes
- Review Globe Information Tax Returns for potential revenue risks and opportunities
- Liaise with National Treasury and other internal stakeholders on tax policy matters
- Evaluate and advise on mergers and acquisitions from a tax risk perspective
- Contribute technical expertise to system, policy, and procedural improvements
- Provide thought leadership and specialist advice in your area of expertise
Minimum Requirements:
- Honours Degree / Postgraduate Diploma (NQF 8) in Taxation, Accounting, Auditing or related field
- 10–12 years'' experience in taxation, accounting, auditing, or international tax
- At least 3–4 years in a junior specialist role
OR
- Bachelor’s Degree / Advanced Diploma (NQF 7) in a related field
- 12–15 years’ relevant experience, including 3 years at a junior specialist level
