Senior Stock and Stores Controller

An opportunity for a suitably experienced Senior Storeman has become available with our client based in the Northern Suburbs. The company operates within the Engineering and Manufacturing sector.

Candidates with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar stores/procurement/supply chain role in the manufacturing/engineering sector are encouraged to apply.

POSITION INFO:

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric / National Senior Certificate (Math & Accounting).
• Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Supply Chain, Stores, Procurement, Inventory, etc.
• Minimum 3 – 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience in using a MRP & ERS program.
• Syspro experience will be beneficial.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of TSIS standards and procedures.
• Computer proficiency.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform under pressure.

• Willing to perform standby duties during the week as per standby roster.

Key Performance Areas (Summarised):

Warehousing, Stores and Stock Controlling:

• Assist with production planning according to capacity plan with relation to raw material and production demands.
• Responsible for control and full movements of raw materials to warehouses.
• Responsible for economical storage methods.
• Reporting of weekly incoming raw materials.
• Planning of raw material issuing to Operations.
• Conduct routine stock takes of raw material in warehouses and stores consumable stock.
• Responsible for effective control, and storage of all raw material warehouses and consumable stock.
• Daily checks of material movement and correct capture on Syspro.
• Manage the transportation of raw material with applicable superintendent.

Waste & Scrap Control:

• Responsible for the removal of all scrap and waste from production.
• Ensure full compliance with TSIS standards regarding pallets, tool parts, master strips, oil, chemicals, other hazardous materials, and any other confidential materials.
• Responsible for control replacement and movement of scrap bins and ensure that waste is sorted according to TSIS procedures.
• Ensure waste is stored in correct manner and demarcated areas.

Reporting:

• Update and revise all levels of stock on MRP system according to minimum and maximum levels.
• Identify, investigate, and report high levels of consumption of all stock items according to MRP.
• Stock level variances: manage and control all stock level variances, ensure that all variances are investigated and reported.
• Responsible to investigate the creation of all stock item reports according to the need within the company, the cost, usage, and availability.
• Responsible for the depletion/scrapping of any stock items according to the usage or if the item is no longer needed in the plant.

Other:

• Vehicles and Forklifts Controlling.
• Staff Management.
• Responsible for control of, preparation for and execution of raw material stock take.
• Ensure proper training of staff and conduct performance reviews.
• Attend to any disciplinary investigations or RDA issues.
• Control overall time and attendance (clocking in & out and signoffs).
• Manage incoming QC inspection.
• Follow any reasonable and lawful instruction received from superior.
