Senior Structural Engineer

SUMMARY:
A proudly South African Consulting Engineering Company providing professional services through innovative thinking and offering solutions to a wide client base (including Building Services, Infrastructure, Mining, Industrial and Transport Infrastructure), requires the full-time services of a Senior Structural Engineer based in George or Mossel Bay, for a permanent position in the Infrastructure Department. The candidate must have a B Eng or BSc or B Tech degree in Civil Engineering, be ECSA registered, and have at least 5+ years of post-registration experience. Key responsibilities include designing building structures, conducting condition assessments, designing water-retaining structures, and managing projects, client relationships, junior engineers, and draftspersons.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for designs, project management, client relationships and managing junior structural engineer and structural draftsperson.
• Person will report to the Business Unit Manager.
• Team player with solid communication skills. Must be fluent in English and able to speak and understand Afrikaans.
• Target driven, solution finding, with meticulous attention to quality and detail.

• Minimum B Eng or BSc or B Tech Civil Engineering degree (NOT negotiable).
• Must be ECSA Registered.
• Minimum 5+ years post-registration experience in a similar environment.
• Building structures design needed, condition assessments and water retaining structure design knowledge recommended.
• Sound knowledge of Structural design packages required for technical skills.
