Senior Systems Engineer

SUMMARY:
Senior Systems Engineer Gauteng, Johannesburg Prospects- Market Related A leading organisation who is an expert in the IT space is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team. The main focus will be on VMware, HyperV, ESXi and Linus/Unix server systems administration. The position will be based in Umhlanga, Durban with the possibility of remote options.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of ISP network and hosting environment
• Effective involvement in projects and the rollout of solutions to clients.
• Provide technical support in terms of hardware, software, systems and administration
• Provide after-hours support
• Create, oversee and test security measures
• Build and document network management and telemetry road maps
• Integrate network management platforms into the Microsoft cloud for new and existing technologies
• Architecture and design of fault tolerant system

Requirements:

• Advanced server systems administration (Linux/Unix), DNS administration and networking
• VMware, HyperV, ESXi and related
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience installing, maintaining and supporting a corporate/ISP infrastructure environment, network environments (LAN & WAN) and IT support technician
• VPN and WAN setup/support
• In-depth understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VOIP, VPN
• CCNA/CCNP (or equivalent)
• SAN/NAS technologies
