SUMMARY:
Senior Systems Engineer Gauteng, Johannesburg Prospects- Market Related A leading organisation who is an expert in the IT space is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to join their team. The main focus will be on VMware, HyperV, ESXi and Linus/Unix server systems administration. The position will be based in Umhlanga, Durban with the possibility of remote options.

POSITION INFO:

Responsibilities:

Maintenance of ISP network and hosting environment
Effective involvement in projects and the rollout of solutions to clients.
Provide technical support in terms of hardware, software, systems and administration
Provide after-hours support
Create, oversee and test security measures
Build and document network management and telemetry road maps
Integrate network management platforms into the Microsoft cloud for new and existing technologies
Architecture and design of fault tolerant system

Requirements:

Advanced server systems administration (Linux/Unix), DNS administration and networking
VMware, HyperV, ESXi and related
A minimum of 5 years’ experience installing, maintaining and supporting a corporate/ISP infrastructure environment, network environments (LAN & WAN) and IT support technician
VPN and WAN setup/support
In-depth understanding of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VOIP, VPN
CCNA/CCNP (or equivalent)
SAN/NAS technologies
