Senior Tax Practitioner

SUMMARY:
An established professional services firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior Tax Practitioner to join its growing team.
This role is suited to a tax specialist with a strong technical background and a minimum of 5 years' practical experience across individual, corporate, and trust taxation. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering tax services to a diverse client base, while also working closely with accountants and providing guidance on tax-related matters across the business.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities Manage tax compliance for individuals, companies, trusts, and deceased estates Prepare, review, and submit income tax and provisional tax returns Calculate and submit dividends tax and related tax returns Handle SARS verifications, audits, reviews, objections, disputes, and requests for reasons Manage tax registrations and deregistrations across all tax types Attend to tax directives, voluntary disclosure applications, and complex SARS queries Maintain and administer SARS eFiling portfolios and taxpayer profiles Provide expert tax advice and support to clients Work closely with accounting staff to deliver integrated accounting and tax services Assist colleagues with technical tax queries and compliance matters Liaise directly with SARS to resolve taxpayer issues efficiently Minimum Requirements Minimum 5 years' experience in a dedicated tax role Proven experience managing taxes for individuals, trusts, and corporate entities Ability to perform tax calculations independently from start to finish Extensive knowledge of SARS processes and eFiling Strong understanding of South African tax legislation and compliance requirements Experience dealing directly with SARS on complex matters Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills Essential Skills Registered Tax Practitioner with SARS Active SAIT or SAICA membership Experience within an accounting, tax, or professional services practice Exposure to trust taxation Experience with Xero, Xero Practice Manager, Konsise, or similar tax software solutions Essential Criteria Fluent in Afrikaans and English (read, write, and speak) Own reliable transport Able to work from the office (this is not a remote role) Professional, organised, and able to manage multiple client portfolios Qualification: Degree in finance \/ accounting \/ tax or relevant For more information connect with us on and Register your CV to create a profile and to view all our Financial recruitment vacancies.
