Senior Underwriter (Corporate)

SUMMARY:
Seasoned Underwriter with strong Corporate experience.

POSITION INFO:

Our multinational short-term insurance client, based in Johannesburg, is looking for a Senior Underwriter with at least 10 year’s solid underwriting experience.

You are an individual with a minimum of 8 year’s corporate product experience with the ability to easily understand and apply basic principles of risk, insurance, facultative reinsurance and contracts structuring.  You are a self-starter, innovative and assertive.  You will have large and complex claims experience and a working knowledge of Industry Policy Wording.  You are at a level where you are the final decision maker and can sign off on policies exceeding R1 billion.  In addition to a 3-year relevant post matric qualification and sound knowledge of insurance services regulations (FAIS, PPR, NCA, Insurance Acts), you are a fast learner that can use initiative.

In this role, your responsibilities will include the investigating and developing of innovative underwriting solutions, manage underwriting performance and manage adequate return on capital.
