We are seeking an experienced Senior Welding Engineer with a strong background in the manufacturing of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and heavy fabrication equipment within the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will oversee all welding activities, ensure compliance with international codes and standards, and provide technical support to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, and efficiency in fabrication processes.
This role requires hands-on expertise in welding processes, in-depth knowledge of applicable codes, and the ability to lead, mentor, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across fabrication operations.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, review, and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ) in compliance with ASME, AWS, and international standards.

Supervise and monitor welding operations during fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, and related equipment.

Provide technical expertise on welding metallurgy, materials selection, repair procedures, and weldability challenges.

Ensure strict adherence to client specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Liaise with QA/QC teams on inspections, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and welding-related audits.

Drive continuous improvement through the implementation of advanced welding techniques, automation, and cost-effective solutions.

Conduct failure investigations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Mentor welders and junior engineers, providing training on welding standards, techniques, and best practices.

Support project engineering teams with welding-related input during design, fabrication, and commissioning phases.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Welding Engineering (Master’s preferred).

Minimum 8–12 years’ experience in welding engineering within heavy fabrication (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, boilers, or similar equipment).

Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Section IX, API, and AWS codes/standards.

Practical expertise in SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SAW, and other major welding processes.

Familiarity with NDT techniques (RT, UT, PT, MT) and quality assurance requirements.

Recognized certifications preferred: CSWIP 3.1/3.2, AWS-CWI, or International Welding Engineer (IWE).

Proven ability to troubleshoot complex welding issues and implement effective solutions.
