My client a well known company in the Instrumentation Industry based in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town requires a competent Services Engineer or Specialist.
This position will involve travelling and is reporting to the Senior Manager: Technical Services Department
Requirements:
B Tech. / National Higher Diploma in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Process-related discipline.
B Eng. in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Process-related discipline will be advantageous.
At least 5 years of experience within the Process Control and Instrumentation industry.
Exposure to Yokogawa products and systems will be advantageous.

Job Purpose/Duties
• Under the coordination of the Senior Manager: TSD and in collaboration with Business units contribute to the Service Department by being primarily responsible for System and PCI service, system repairs, engineering solution projects (Upgrades, EXA packages, Foundation Field bus); execution system maintenance contracts scope, execution of service notes, emergency call-out, IT assistance and stand by at site.
• Supporting Service and Sales Activities in the overall promotion of the company and its products/services. Key Accountability and Responsibility
• To maintain 24/7 cover for the System Support Contracts in the region of responsibility.
• Execution of Service Projects and Annual Maintenance Contracts.
• To offer technical support on Systems, PCI, and IT solutions to customers both external and internal.
• To assist with System and PCI fault finding, tests, and minor repairs.
• To be available for service projects like upgrades, migrations, and implementation of EXA packages.
• To schedule and execute System and PCI service notes, information, and memos.
• To be familiarized with all available Service Sales items and Service tools.
• To assist with System training when requested, and to ensure full conversancy with the latest versions of the Distributed Control Systems.
• Monthly reporting to the Senior Manager: TSD.
• To assist the Sales Team with the production of technically and commercially acceptable proposals, tender documents, and bid submissions by checking and agreeing on key elements affecting engineering execution.
• Train Engineering colleagues to an acceptable standard within personal areas of expertise when required.
• Carry out, any tasks as deemed necessary by the Senior Manager: TSD and respond positively to any other reasonable request about the job.
• Liaise with clients and other third parties to gather the required information. • Build relationships and rapport with key client contacts.
• Ensure compliance in service administration procedures and instructions, as specified in the quality management system (QMS).
