Opportunity Available!! Our well known client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ a Sewing Machine Technician to join their dynamic team in East London.
POSITION INFO:
Job Description:
- To repair all sewing machines effectively and timeously to keep machine downtime to a minimum
Key Performance Areas:Breakdowns: - Analyzing the problem and fixing breakages
- Repairing all non-conforming equipment as it Occurs.
- Capturing all spares used
- Capturing Breakdowns in the Breakdown books
Sewing machine attachments and conversions:
- Getting plates to make the attachments from The workshop
- Making tools for the bending of the plates
- Making the actual attachments
- Fitting the attachments to the sewing machines
- Making a sample on raw material
- Convent sewing machine as per required
- Modification to be performed as required on Equipment and layout as required by Production and/or engineering
Preventative maintenance:
- Maintains preventative maintenance program of all Sewing machines and plant equipment
- Observing the functioning of all sewing
- machines via daily walks through and do all preventative maintenance as per requirements.
Training:
- Demonstrating the functioning of new machines and new sewing machines and or attachments as per required
Line changes:
- Line changes as per operational requirement.
- Ensure all special tasks are complete as are assigned from time. (this includes all verbal instructions direct or indirect).
Promote Health and Safety Issues:
- Ensure staff operate according to laid down Procedures, pep talks, rectify faulty behavior and practices
Job Requirements: - Grade 12 (matric) and Sewing Technician Qualification
- 5 Years experience
- Single to multi-needle Durkopp Adler sewing machine experience
- Electronic & pneumatic experience
- Welding experience
