SUMMARY:
SEWING MANAGER – DBN (PINETOWN)
SALARY: R50 000.00 NEG DEPENDING ON EEXPERIENCE
 
One of the largest independently owned furniture manufacturers in Africa. Producing fabric and leather products to supply to retail chain stores  in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia, and Swaziland
 

• Professional experience in production for a fast-paced manufacturing facility.
• Must have 10+ years’ experience
• Must be experienced in implementing new production and house-keeping standards
• Prior production planning experience would benefit
• Seeking a hands on candidate, who is dynamic and adaptable to change
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Responsible for overall factory sewing requirements
• Daily management of 5 sewing clusters
• Management of approximately 150 staff members
• 10 x line Supervisor reports
• Cover Store Supervisor report
• Department mechanic report
• Department sews both leather and fabric furniture products, with various decorative stitching details
• Required to produce the correct quantity, in a set time frame, to the correct quality standard
• Prior sewing management experience is a must, preferably in both a ‘Made to Order’, and bulk manufacturing
• Sewing experience across different industries preferable
• Ability to rebalance production lines
• Must achieve planned production as set out by the Planning Manager
• Must understand and follow technical sewing drawings
