Shift Manager

SUMMARY:
We are looking for a manager with manufacturing experience who can manage a production shift.

POSITION INFO:

The candidate must have the following qualifications:

• Operational management degree/diploma essential
• Knowledge of MS Project will be essential
• Previous experience in corrugated production management beneficial
• Min 10 years experience in a large manufacturing facility with 200-300 staff compliment

• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills;
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task effectively, and be deadline-driven;
• Must have good planning and organizing skills.
• Experience in managing teams
• Ability to deal with increasing complexity in processes and practices to achieve new opportunities and greater production output
• Ability to work under pressure, independently, and long hours when needed
• Maintain production standards within the prescribed targets and maintain minimum waste percentages in production
• Able to identify training and development needs
• Willing to work shifts is essential

Your key responsibilities:

• The Duty Manager is expected to know what is happening in the departments, understand the priorities, allocate resources, accordingly, execute what is required and provide feedback to management on daily basis.
• Organize and Control Manpower
• Manage, monitor, and improve production processes and systems to ensure sustainable growth and a high level of efficiency within waste tolerances
• Manage all functions on production floor on shift
• Ensure quality targets are met and exceeded with lean manufacturing principles
• Ensure all machines are maintained at OEM level and unplanned stoppages are within tolerances, provide technical support to the operation
• Comply with SHE rules and regulations
• Plan and maximize productivity and minimise downtime in the division;
• Manage the corrective/ disciplinary procedures including investigating, initiating and chairing disciplinary hearings.
• Contribute to continuous improvement program and drive lean manufacturing.
• Managing and ensure that all staff are complying with the Company’s Health and Safety policies and procedures;
• Ensure that the OTIF is attained and improved on
