Shift Supervisor, Polypropylene

Job Purpose
Ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the plant during shifts, timely, safely, and efficiently according to standard operating procedures.

Qualification and Requirements:
Diploma in chemical, polymer, or an equivalent field.
Minimum 5 years of operational experience as shift supervisor in the petrochemical or chemical industry, preferably with exposure in PP Novolen technology.

Role responsibilities:
Supervise, review and monitor all aspects of Operations and liaise closely with interfacing departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations and total reliability of the plant.
Verify and review all current procedures for meeting operational objectives and recommend changes in procedures for the safe and efficient running of the plant
Monitor any deviations in normal operations activities and trouble shoot operational problems in order to generate quick and prompt decisions making solutions to resolve operating problems and meet the shift production targets
Check operational Parameters to analyze them and implement changes as required.
Issue work permits specifying conditions for safe work and ensure compliance thereof.
Ensure that appropriate actions are taken to meet safety guidelines and regulations and environmental conditions are within acceptable norms and standards.
Constantly communicate, co-ordinate and provide feedback to the Operations Superintendent and the counterpart Shift Supervisor to ensure plant smooth operations.
Initiate and follow up all routine and reactive maintenance jobs in his shift in order to ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the plant.
Monitor and evaluate shift performance against the specific required standards set by the Management. Provide guidance and awareness in Safety and Plant Integrity.
Facilitate, monitor, control and ensure all actions are taken for the safe shutdown and start up in specific areas of the plant in line with standard operating procedures.
Ensure the effective implementation of loss control policies and procedures in shifts in order to control, minimize and monitor flare losses and waste generation.
Prepare and release mandatory shift reports on operational issues to Management in order to keep them updated about any relevant operational issues that affect production.
Update daily Management Report for records and reference.
Supervise Shift operations in the plant to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established standards and procedures, employees are motivated, understand what is expected of them and perform according to the designated standards.
Ensure that all team members are properly trained to operate the plant to the stipulated standards.
Responsible for all Emergency situations in the plant and coordinating closely with the counterpart Shift Supervisor to undertake the lead role as the On-Site Commander in addressing the situation.
Ensure strict compliance with all approved Responsible Care and IMRS policy
