POSITION INFO:

Purpose of role: To manage and coordinate all import shipment processes (airfreight and sea freight) to ensure timely and accurate clearance of inventory, proper financial reconciliation, and compliance with company policies. This includes overseeing shipment registration, supplier and clearing agent invoice verification, foreign supplier payments, and managing foreign exchange requirements, as well as liaising with banks for Letters of Credit and Bills, and ensuring accurate reporting and clearance of inward customer funds.

Duties include: 

• Send clearing instruction to the clearing agent and register shipments on IFS including connecting and receiving inventory.
• Matching of the supplier invoices on arrival of goods and approve clearing agent invoices for payment.
• Reconciliation and payment of foreign suppliers.
• Liaising with various banking institutions to open Letters of Credits and Bills.
• Buy foreign currency cover based on company policy.
• Reporting and clearing of inward funds from customers.

Minimum Requirements: 

• Grade 12 with Accounting and/or Mathematics.
• Import, Export and Customs knowledge and/or experience or a bookkeeping diploma.
• Accounts payable reconciliations and dealing with suppliers.
• Dealing with Trade Finance departments at banking institutions.
• Completing of clearance instructions to freight forwarders.
