JOB SUMMARY:
A well-known International Laboratory Equipment Company requires the above to assist in the processing of all shipping administration pertaining to exports and imports as well as assisting with both local and international procurement for the Company in line with the business plan and improved value chain efficiencies.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Minimum requirements for the role:

Minimum matric is essential with a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain or related would be beneficial.
Previous experience having worked in a Shipping / Imports and Exports role working with Incoterms is essential for this role.
Procurement experience is preferred but not essential.
Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail as well as the ability to work well under pressure and multi-task.
Sound ability to communicate effectively across all levels.
Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
Ability to work independently and as a team player.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Executing the planning of the receiving of stock containers together with Operations to ensure manpower is available to offload containers.
Ensuring that the packing list is accurate when the container is being offloaded.
Escalating any variances and issues to Singapore.
Planning the size of the container and its capacity.
Assisting with import shipments via sea, courier and airfreights.
Combining orders and making shipment bookings.
Tracking the shipment and providing the Client with updates.
Assisting with exports to neighbouring countries.
Compiling commercial invoices and the packing list for each order.
Ensuring that the stock levels are kept for all products in the warehouse.
Booking of warehouse tools, trolleys and equipment repairs and services.
Coordinating the purchasing of local and international products and following up on these.
Reviewing the Suppliers and ensuring that they conform to Company standards.
Filing and documenting all evidence of importation.
Negotiating of contracts with Suppliers.
Placing orders for required materials and liaising with Clearing and Forwarding Agents to ensure goods are delivered and transported to the warehouse.
Placing, preparing and processing purchase orders for stock.
Providing assistance for duties pertaining to the export control function as required.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
