Shipping and Imports Administrator

SUMMARY:
A global renowned company requires the above to assist the Financial Manager with the executing and planning of imported stock containers as well as liaising with shipping companies regarding shipping administration of products that are imported into SA.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:

• Minimum matric is essential with a financial or supply chain qualification or related is preferred.
• The company is happy to look at either a financial or supply chain graduate with no work experience for the role to be trained.
• Previous experience having worked in a shipping / imports role working with incoterms is preferred but not essential for this role.
• Attention to detail as well as the ability to work well under pressure and multi-task.
• Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.

• Assisting the Financial Manager with the executing and planning of imported stock containers as well as liaising with shipping companies regarding shipping administration of products that are imported into SA.
• Assisting with import shipments via sea, courier and airfreights.
• Obtaining and negotiating quotes for freight rates, with shipping lines or freight forwarders.
• Arranging bookings with carriers or freight forwarders.
• Maintaining external contact with shipping lines, agents, banks, inspection companies and third-party commodity suppliers and receivers.
• Arranging import and export clearance for all local transactions.
• Receiving and processing local and international orders.
