SUMMARY:

We have a position available for a Shop Assistant for a temporary position at OR Tambo Airport- Eastern Suburbs.

POSITION INFO:
Working Hours: Shift-based (as per roster)

Shop: 07h00 – 23h00
Kiosks: 04h00 – 21h00
Days: 7 days per week (rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays included)

Job Purpose:

To provide excellent customer service and ensure efficient day-to-day operations within the retail shop/kiosk. The Shop Assistant will assist customers, maintain store displays, manage stock, and support smooth retail operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide friendly, professional service to all customers.
Assist with sales transactions, cash handling, and card payments.
Ensure merchandise is neatly displayed and shelves are well stocked.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store/kiosk at all times.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor or manager.
Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Work as part of a team to meet sales and service goals.

Requirements:

Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
Minimum 1–2 years of retail experience (airport retail experience will be a strong advantage).
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shift hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Presentable and professional appearance.
Own reliable transport would be an advantage (due to shift times).
