SUMMARY:
Durban based, dynamic, progressive Short Term Insurance company urgently requires your experience in sourcing and maintaining new business.

POSITION INFO:

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Client/ Company Liaison

Source new business, preferably in the trucking industry

Schedule appointments as per business requirements

Engage with potential clients and obtain a needs analysis of their short term insurance needs

Conduct presentations to prospective clients

Convince client to make use of the recommended products and services

Provide ongoing service and support to clients

Be accountable for achieving profit targets and growth

Ensure compliance and procedural requirements are met at all times

Business Management/Operations

Determine possible clients in terms of leads and opportunities

Administration

Acquire quotations

Follow-up on inadequate policy information

Attend to ad hoc business needs as and when required

Responsible for policy accuracy, client satisfaction in terms of broker function

Maintenance of COMPANY standard documentation as per FAIS requirements

KEY MEASURES:

Client feedback

Accuracy of communication and written information

Client loyalty and profitability

Growth of business

Business and profit growth to achieve budgeted ratios and figures

Client’s are impressed by marketer / brokerage service / efficiency

A professional image is maintained

Profit % consistently meets targets

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESS:

Knowledge

Grade 12

Relevant insurance qualification (RE5 and Insurance

Qualification will be an advantage

Minimum 1 year short term (Commercial and Personal

Lines) sales experience

Own reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license

Target Driven

Practical knowledge of transport industry i.e. career experience

Excellent communicator - Multilingual

 

Interpersonal competencies

Sound negotiation and understanding skills, with the ability to rapidly establish rapport and persuade

Ability to establish relationships with ease

Strong ability to present, convey and sell ideas, prospects and concepts

Interacts with others in an assertive and confident way, displaying tact and preserving the relationship as appropriate

Cautious when dealing with new/ prospective clients
