POSITION INFO:

Short term Insurance Underwriter (HCV) required for an insurance firm based in Ballito.Â

Requirements:

• 5 - 10 years experience in a similar role, dealing with short term insurance on commercial side HCV (Heavy commercial Vehicle Insurance)Â
• They need someone to hit the ground running with experience in HCV
• Attention to detail, sharp, assertive
• Someone who can handle pressure and take responsibilityÂ
• Experience with the program Flexi BrokerÂ
• Someone from insurance background is essentialÂ

Duties as follows:

• An Insurance Underwriting Administrator is to provide both clerical and administrative support to the broker/s – either as part of a team or individually.
• Coordinating and implementing office procedures .
• Responsible for certain projects as identified by a Supervisor / Manager.
• Broker copied into all correspondence.
• Diary follow ups for outstanding documentation.
• New business (Commercial and Domestic) – Underwriting it accurately and completely the first time.
• Renewals – Accurately and fairly finalising renewal terms on both Commercial and Domestic policies.
• Comparative quotations – attempting to obtain better and cheaper comparative quotations for the client, on request of the broker.
• Obtaining all of the relevant documentation. E.g. FICA documents, jewellery valuation certificates etc.
• Continually updating the Broker.
• Continually updating Flexi docs, Flexi notes and Diary entries.
• All new policies and renewals must always be up to date with Diary, Notes and Docs so that anyone checking on it, be it a Manager, Insurers, Reinsurers, the trail can be picked up and it can be seen that the process has been followed correctly and timeously.
• Diary entries to be made for 3, 7 or maximum 14 days.
• To be able to use the full function of Flexi and draw Premium Confirmation.
• Always treat fellow colleagues, Management and brokers with absolute dignity and respect.
• Ask your Supervisor / Manager questions if you are unsure about any work related issue.
• Report any suspicious activities to your Supervisor / Manager.
